Now off to State, which will be held at the School of Mines March 13th.
The team consists of Conor Messer, Sarah Nick, Alex Zavislan and Ryan Culhane
These math programs were implemented five years ago. We had a rough start, but the students were determined to place 1st at the District competition for Mathletics and get to the top 10 at Math Counts. We are there! With persistance and dedication, one can do anything!!!!! There will always be mountains to climb. Well we climbed one. Now, we are almost at the top of another. Way to go competitors.
A big thanks to Mr. Mike Tabb for coaching the 7th/8th graders for Mathletics and coaching the Math Counts. It was hard fitting their schedules into mine. MGolla

Mathletics/MATHCOUNTS inspires excellence, confidence and curiosity in middle-school students, through fun and challenging math problems. With the leadership of the National Society of Professional Engineers, MATHCOUNTS provides today’s students with the foundation for success in science, technology, engineering and math careers.
MATHCOUNTS is a national enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle-school mathematics achievement. Mathletics is a competition at the district level, preparing students for the MATHCOUNTS spring competition.
To join this team, students must be at the advanced level in math and work well in a team situation. Come see Mr. Tabb or Ms. Golla if you are interested in joining. Parent help is needed.
PRACTICES HAVE BEGUN. PLEASE MAKE IT A POINT TO SHOW UP FOR PRACTICE. SEE Mr. Tabb for the 7th/8th grade schedule and Ms. Golla for the 6th grade schedule. 6th graders will meet right now on Monday's and Wed.'s at lunch to practice. That means you must bring your lunch on those days because practice runs for 45 minutes. You eat while you practice.
We need students who are committed. It really is a blast.
