Mathletics/MATHCOUNTS
3/15/10 update: The 27th Colorado State Math Counts competition for middle-school students was held Saturday, 3/13, at the Colorado School of Mines. To participate, students had to qualify as a team, or as an individual, at one of eight Chapter competitions held around the State in February. More than 1,000 students competed in those competitions. Twenty-four teams competed today; including individual competitors, there were 180 total students representing 63 schools at the competition. The top four students move on to the National competition in Orlando in May. The top six teams are honored with trophies.
THE HILL TEAM OF CONOR MESSER, SARAH NICK, RYAN CULHANE, AND ALEX ZAVISLAN FINISHED 6TH IN THE TEAM COMPETITION. We were the only DPS school to qualify for participation in the team competition!
In the individual scoring, Conor finished 19th, and Sarah 30th.
Slavens and Hamilton were the only other DPS schools present, with individual students competing.
Our kids were great!
