Destination ImagiNation at Hill Campus
4/19/10 update: The Destination ImagiNation state competition was held Saturday, April 17, at the Auraria Campus:
- The 6th-grade Hill team (Molly Obermeier, Jason Manuel, Maddie Aeling, and Liam Appel; team manager Patricia Gordon) did great, placing 11th out of 21 teams.
- The 8th-grade Hill team (Aidan Jared, Gabi Pezoa, Hannah Stobaugh, Hannah Wilcox, Adam O'Connell and Jacob Sorokin; team manager Kate Donelan) took 2nd place and will go to Global Finals, May 25-30 in Knoxville, TN. The team won the central challenge portion of the day (the play part) AND a Renaissance Award for excellence in engineering. Hill was the ONLY middle school to be given a special award in this category!

At the Destination ImagiNation regional tournament on March 20th, Hill took 1st (8th grade team: Aidan Jared, Gabi Pezoa, Hannah Stobaugh, Hannah Wilcox, Adam O'Connell and Jacob Sorokin) and 2nd (6th grade team: Molly Obermeier, Jason Manuel, Maddie Aeling, and Liam Appel) in DI Bot. The students will be competing in the state tournament on April 17. The 8th-grade team was also awarded the Renaissance Award for Excellence in Engineering, a rare, optional award the judges can choose to give out if merited.
