Volunteers Needed Now!
Volunteering at Hill Campus is a direct way to positively influence your child's education. Hill's PTA has information on where volunteers are needed, whether it's for one hour, one day, or once a week. Please contact the PTA officers to add your name to their volunteer list. You can also directly ask your child's teachers how you can help them.

MR. CHRIS HARNED - SPECIAL ED RESOURCE CLASS SUPPORT
I have two special ed resource classes designed to help those students keep caught up in their other classes. The class sizes are growing, which is diminishing my ability to give each student the individual attention he/she needs. Hence my question: are there any parents who want to volunteer on a regular basis to help students either one-on-one or in very small groups? I could effectively use 2-3 parents every day during periods 1 and 5. The times are 7:30-8:15 and 10:40-11:30. I know this is a lot to ask, but any regular help would really help these students.
In each of these classes, volunteers would be working each day with 1-3 students on one particular homework assignment: often math, but it could be any of the other subjects as well. Students use this time to do work they are assigned in other classes; the purpose of my class is to help them get those assignments completed. Often times students need individual help in getting their assignments done. If there are ten students, I can not get to all of them. If students do not have any homework or classwork to catch up on, they work on basic skills like multiplication, division, etc., where they may also need help.
I hope this helps, and I would greatly appreciate any help that is available.

MS. BETH DOUMA - HUMANITIES FACILITATOR
Ms. Douma is looking for volunteers who would like to work with her lowest readers. Some of these students are English-language learners. The ratio is generally 2 students to 1 adult. Students are available anytime during the day and NO experience is needed.
